SURG1002 — Introduction to Surgical Technology
This course introduces the student to the profession of surgical technology, the surgical team members, roles and responsibilities of the surgical technologists, personal and professional relates, history of surgery, organization and management of various types of healthcare facilities, interdepartmental relationships, communication techniques, and legal, ethical, and moral aspects of practice. All-hazard preparation and microbiology will also be studied. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR) is included.
