FILM288 — Audio Production & Post Production

This hands-on course will introduce students to the technical, aesthetic and artistic concerns that arise with production and field recording/mixing and designing/mixing audio for image-based media including film and video. Instruction centers on the use of professional-quality tools and techniques for selecting microphones for recording and mixing during production, and editing, designing, mixing, and Foley use and creation during post production. Combining lecture and discussion of the technical aspects of sound and acoustics, the course then progresses to their application in real-world situations.
