AEGS100 — Intro to American Ethnic Studies

(H/SS/DSJ) This course is an introduction to the interdisciplinary field of American Ethnic Studies. An emphasis is placed on centering the experiences and knowledge traditions of African Americans, Native Americans, Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders, and Chicanx and Latinx communities (among others). By studying race, gender, sexuality, and other forms of social difference through unique and shared contexts of meaning and power, students will draw connections across historical experiences and cultural expressions to understand our contemporary moment.
