XLI 9161 - Law Enforcement Proficiency Course-Individual 0 Contact hours (Offered as Needed) Law Enforcement Proficiency Course-Individual 1. Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations - During this block of instruction, the student will show proficiencies in the following areas of Emergency Vehicle Operations. Vehicle Inspection, Proactive Driving Skills, Principles of Driving, and Driving under Emergency conditions, this includes but is not limited to The following; Night and Subdued Light Driving, Preparing for Emergency Mode, Operating in Emergency Mode, and Pursuit Considerations. 2. First Aid for Criminal Justice Officers - During this block of instruction, the student will show proficiencies in the following areas of First Aid for Criminal Justice Officers, Preparing to Respond to Emergencies, Responding to Emergencies, Trauma Related Issues, Medical Issues, that include but are not limited to; Levels of Care, Ethical Responsibilities, Duty to Act, Negligence, Body substance Isolation, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), CPR certification is part of this course as well. 3. Criminal Justice Firearms - During this block of instruction, the student will show proficiencies in the following areas of Criminal Justice Firearms. Firearms Safety, Familiarization, Ammunition types and uses, Fundamentals of Marksmanship, Drawing and Holstering a Handgun, Loading and Unloading, Use of Cover, Weapons Malfunction, Weapons cleaning, and Survival Shooting, Uses of Handguns, Shotguns, Semi/Automatic Rifle Carbine. 4. Criminal Justice Defensive Tactics: During this block of instruction, the student will show proficiencies in the following areas of Criminal Justice Defensive Tactics: Overview of Defensive Force, Defensive Tactics preparation training, Use of Force, Force Guidelines, Survival Stress Reaction, Defensive Tactics Techniques, Dynamics of Inter-Human Personal Aggress ion.
