XLI 9115 -- NWF State College Online Instructor Certification The Online Instructor Certification course addresses technology and andragogy essentials for teaching online using Brightspace by D2L, NWFSC’s learning management system. It takes approximately 25 hours to complete for the novice instructor, less if the participant is already familiar with Brightspace by D2L or a similar learning management system. The course consists of six modules and one final project. The final project entails the creation of a comprehensive course orientation module, complete with a course syllabus and syllabus quiz. This final project can used as a personalized template for online instructors to use in their live courses, if they wish. The following topics will be covered as part of this course: • Brightspace by D2L Basics • Universal Design and Disability Law in the Online Classroom • Mastering Content: Finding Your Way Around the Online Classroom • Creating A Sense of Presence in the Online Classroom • Engaging and Communicating with the Online Learner • Making the Grade: Assessing the Online Learner
