PHT 1211L -- Physical Therapy Principles and Procedures Lab 2 Credit Hours (Offered Spring) This course provides instruction in the application of clinical use of biophysical agents used in the therapeutic treatment of tissue. Emphasis is placed on how biophysical agents—such as heat, cold, light, ultrasound, traction, compression, electricity, and hydrotherapy—can be used to support and enhance healing, reduce pain, and improve patient outcomes. The course covers the physical principles, physiological effects, therapeutic indications, and contraindications of each modality. Students will also learn and practice selected tests and measures to ensure the safe, effective, and evidence-based application of these agents in clinical settings.
