HSA 1100 - Introduction to Health Care 3 Credit Hours (Fall, Spring) This course introduces students to the health care field and the many career opportunities within it. Students will learn about the organization of the U.S. health care system, the different types of health care facilities, and the wide range of professionals who provide care. Topics include medical terminology basics, patient-centered care, legal and ethical responsibilities, communication and teamwork, and current trends in health care delivery. Emphasis is placed on helping students build a strong foundation for success in health care programs and future workplace settings.
