Special emphasis placed on contemporary social problems and issues, including deviancy, crime and delinquency, substance abuse, violence, mass media, mental health and suicide, human trafficking, unemployment and poverty, and issues and problems related to the Information Revolution. Understand the social issues and problems concerning health, education, economic, family, immigration, poverty, and terrorism. Correlate types of crimes with social policy. Respect and use critical thinking, skeptical inquiry, and the scientific approach to solve problems related to society and social processes. General Education
