PLSC 2933H - Special Topics in Political Science, Honors PLSC 2933H - Special Topics in Political Science, Honors Description NWACC periodically offers Special Topics Honors courses in Political Science (PLSC) that reflect specific topics of study, which are not part of the standard Political Science discipline curriculum. Students will improve in their abilities to read and analyze the related Political Science subject. Topics and content will vary from semester to semester. This is an honors course. Please refer to the NWACC Honors Program section in the current catalog for more information. This course will only be if there are enough students in need of an honors class or if it can be combined with a standard version of the class. • Analyze theories or concepts used in political science regarding political events or phenomena. • Assess the limits on the power of government or people in domestic or international context. • Compare the historical or social influences on political events or phenomena. • Describe policy alternatives to current political institutions. • Explain the organization and development of varying political systems or patterns of governance. • Assess the influences and processes in which the United States constructs foreign or national security policy. • Synthesize theoretical, empirical, or analytical understandings of political events or phenomena.
