PLSC 2303H - Introduction to Public Administration and Public Policy, Honors PLSC 2303H - Introduction to Public Administration and Public Policy, Honors Description This course introduced students to the public policy making process, the American public policy environment, the theory and practice of public administrators, and the role of public administrators in the public policy process. This is an honors course. Please refer to the NWACC Honors Program section in the current catalog for more information. This course will only be if there are enough students in need of an honors class or if it can be combined with a standard version of the class. • Explain how public administration differs from politics. • Identify ways that public and private organizations are similar and different. • Evaluate the positive and negative of different tools that modern public administrators use to pursue public goals. • Explain the major values of public administrators. • Illustrate how those values impact the work of government. • Define the policy process. • Recognize the different frameworks for evaluating policy.
