NURS 9422 - Nursing Care of Adults III Practicum NURS 9422 - Nursing Care of Adults III Practicum Description This course is a continuation of Nursing Care of the Adult I and II and focuses on the nursing care of clients with cardiac and neurological disorders, cancer and the critically ill. There is also a focus on development of basic management skills to provide nursing care for groups of clients. Finally, the student will explore the transition from student to practicing nurse. The emphasis is on the role of the A.D. nurse, as manager of client care and member within the profession of nursing. The clinical component provides the student the opportunity to apply theoretical content in acute care settings. Advanced psychomotor skills are taught in the campus lab and utilized in the clinical setting. BIOL 2214 Anatomy and Physiology I, BIOL 2224 Anatomy and Physiology II, MATH 1203 College Algebra or higher (excluding MATH 1313), PSYC 2003 General Psychology, ENGL 1013 English Composition I, MBIO 2014 General Microbiology, PSYC 2103 Human Growth & Development, ENGL 1023 English Composition II, HIM 1123 Electronic Health Records, and NURS 9313 Pharmacological Basics of Nursing. Nursing And Nursing Care of Adult II didactic (NURS 9314) & practicum course (NURS 9312) with a grade of C or better.
