NURS 9333 - Mental Health Nursing NURS 9333 - Mental Health Nursing Description Mental Health Nursing Fall 2nd 8weeks Nursing provides for the acquisition and application of psychiatric/mental health nursing theory, incorporating communication, collaboration, caring and clinical reasoning/nursing judgment necessary for safe, client-centered nursing care to diverse clients experiencing common mental health conditions/disorders. Incorporates evidence based practice, quality improvement, professional standards, and legal and ethical responsibilities of the nurse Recognize the importance of therapeutic communication, leadership skills, and collaboration of teamwork to meet the client’s health care goal and needs of the client experiencing common mental health conditions/disorders. Use self-knowledge gained through reflection on one’s own beliefs and values in building and enhancing the nurse-client relationship to provide safe, high quality, evidence based nursing care of diverse clients experiencing common mental health conditions/disorders. Recognize therapeutic use of self, therapeutic communication skills and understanding of mental health issues across the lifespan for clients experiencing common mental health conditions/disorders.
