NURS 9121 - Essentials of LPN to RN Transition Practicum NURS 9121 - Essentials of LPN to RN Transition Practicum Description This course focuses on evidence-based practice of theory application and demonstration of basic nursing skills and pharmacology concepts. Use of the nursing process and planning client centered care for clients across the life span are introduced. Safety in the client environment is stressed in various types of healthcare settings. This course will require an in-person clinical component conducted by NWACC nursing faculty. During this course the student will have face-to-face clinical rotations with an NWACC instructor. This is the requirement of the ARSBN. BIOL 2214 Anatomy and Physiology I, BIOL 2224 Anatomy and Physiology II, MATH 1203 College Algebra or higher (excluding MATH 1313), PSYC 2003 General Psychology, ENGL 1013 English Composition I, MBIO 2014 General Microbiology, PSYC 2103 Human Growth & Development, ENGL 1023 English Composition II, HIM 1123 Electronic Health Records, and NURS 9313 Pharmacological Basics of Nursing. Identify basic patient needs and prioritize utilizing various nursing theories such as Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, to plan care and provide nursing interventions that reflect knowledge of human growth and development, age-appropriate adult nursing care, and application of fundamental nursing principles.
