Methods for establishment, fertilization, mowing, cultivation, irrigation, and pest management are presented, and their impact on culture of lawns, golf courses, athletic fields, and other managed turf areas discussed. Two hours of lecture and 2 hours of laboratory per week. Explain fertilizer, water and pest control needs of turfgrasses used in landscaping and other application. Describe the mowing requirements for different types of grasses used for residential and commercial applications. Recognize turf-related problems and recommend practices to remedy the situations.
