4 Credits This course introduces the student to equipment and basic principles of physics used in the delivery, management, and evaluation of respiratory care in a variety of practice settings. Content includes focus areas of medical gas therapy, infection control, airway management, bronchial hygiene, and safe transport. Students are introduced to principles governing the safe initiation and management of mechanical ventilation along with alternative ventilator and sleep devices. Lab fee. Course Level
