MAR1503 — Electrical Systems I
3 Credits This course is a basic study of electricity and electrical systems as applied to the marine industry. Areas of study will be AC and DC electricity, ignition systems, starting and charging systems, and boat electrical systems and wiring. Pre or (PLO 2, 3, 5) Diagnose known problems in an electrical circuit using a test light. (PLO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) Determine the resistance values of marine parts and accessories and compare with a given acceptable range. (PLO 3, 4, 5) Create a flow chart of a simple CD ignition system and justify. (PLO 2, 3)
