WKSF 1003 — Industrial Workplace Safety

This course will provide an overview of the construction industry by examining organizational structures and systems, safety regulations and agencies, construction documents, office and field organizations, and the various construction crafts and trades. This course will focus on the basic knowledge and skills needed in the construction industry by studying safety, math, hand tools, power tools, rigging, blueprint reading, communication, and employability. Associate of Applied Science in Practical Nursing (CIP 51.3901) Description This program prepares students to meet the licensure requirements for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), as established by the Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners (LSBPNE). The program consists of classroom instruction, lab practicum and superv ised clinical activities in accredited hospitals, nursing homes, and other health care agencies. A minimum score of 80% is required in all nursing courses to allow progression to the next semester. The grading scale is set by the Louisiana State Board of P ractical Nurse Examiners. Upon successful completion of the program, the student is awarded a diploma and is eligible to apply to take the National Council of State Boards Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN).
