ARTS1005 — Beginning Painting

This course introduces students to classical and contemporary painting, techniques and concepts. Painting from still-life, landscapes, self-portrait, and life models from observation will be geared towards realism, but various other styles could be explored. Color theory, compositional structure, visual perception, and critical thinking skills will be emphasized. Acrylic will be the primary medium for this class. Six hours of studio per week. Not counted as a Fine Arts elective.
