EDP 301 - Foundations in Reading EDP 301 - Foundations in Reading Lecture: 3 Introduces students to the fundamentals of teaching reading, writing, and spelling skills, including phonological and phonemic awareness, systematic phonics instruction, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension with a focus on practices that are based in the science of reading instruction. Emphasizes the teaching strategies and content relevant to elementary aged students and aligned with the Arizona K-5 Reading Standards. Concurrent Requisite: ECD 390 or EDU 391
