ARTD170 — Animation I (3 credit hours)

and Winter Terms, Even years only A studio-based introduction to the fundamental methods, practices, and principles of animation. Students explore: connections between traditional and contemporary media; visual communication strategies; the twelve principles of animation; the psychology of mediated experiences; and the history of animation. Topics include the elements and principles of design, figure studies and kinesthetics, time-based media theory, and contemporary and historical research.
