MATH 0980 — Math Skills for Statistics
This course is taught concurrently with Introduction to Statistics and is designed to support students in completing the topics covered in both beginning algebra and college-level introductory statistics in one semester. (4 credits) and the corequisite (2 credits) are useful to students whose academic program is satisfied by an introductory statistics course, and allows those students who are not eligible for Statistics to complete a college-level statistics course in 1 semester. Math Skills for Statistics covers converting among fraction, decimal, and percent equivalencies; addition and subtraction of decimal numbers; rounding decimal numbers accurately; order and equivalence of rational numbers; understanding inequality symbols; understanding scientific notation; an introduction to probability; necessary topics from beginning algebra; and student success skills. Students must complete and concurrently.
Prerequisites: MATH 0601, MATH 0602, MATH 0603, MATH 0990, MATH 0630
