GERM 1111 — German Culture and Civilization

Students explore the culture and civilization of the German-speaking world. Through an investigation of the social, political, and artistic aspects of the target culture, students develop greater insight into the global implications of cultural practices. By comparing and contrasting their own culture with that of German-speaking peoples, students develop the intercultural competency that allows them to recognize various perspectives on global issues and analyze alternative solutions. This course is taught in English.
