CHEM 2062 — Organic Chemistry 2

Students prepare for advanced study in chemistry, biochemistry, and related fields by deepening their understanding of structure–reactivity relationships in organic chemistry. Students study aromatic compounds, carbonyl chemistry, enols and enolate reactivity, with emphasis on reaction mechanisms and how molecular structure influences chemical behavior. Through problem solving, laboratory experimentation, and analysis of spectroscopic data, students develop skills to predict reaction outcomes, design multistep syntheses, and apply organic chemistry concepts to biochemical systems and real-world chemical processes.
