3 Credit(s) During this course students will be introduced to, and explore working with, the fundamental elements and principles of design. Critical and creative thinking skills will be applied and strengthened through completion of innovative problem-solution design exercises that are experimental, explorative, and conceptual in nature. Round table discussions and peer reviews will encourage students to utilize design terminology and nurture student understanding of how to effectively communicate ideas through visual media. This course primarily employs traditional graphic arts materials, tools, and utilization of hand-construction skills.
