HSER 1610 — Professionalism in Human Services
This course introduces the concepts of developing professional skills needed in the Human Services workforce such as time management, organization, record keeping, and problem solving. Students will develop an understanding of the importance of using professional verbal and non-verbal communication in Human Services along with the value of transferrable skills in the workplace. The course emphasizes the need for burnout prevention through self-care, boundary setting, and using ethical guidelines when working in the helping profession.
