Congratulations on reaching the final course in your DEI journey! This capstone course will challenge you to apply the competencies you have been practicing during your DEI Certification while also practicing self-leadership. The course involves a review of data sets, analysis and recommendations for a specific DEI challenge. The course is not a field experience where an initiative or human subjects research is conducted. Instead, you will search in the NHCC Library for a DEI problem that you are interested in with plenty of authoritative literature available. Then you will read about your problem to explore how industry experts have addressed it. As the course progresses, you will summarize data that relates to your problem, analyze the data, and make evidence-based recommendations from your library research. The final project will be a succinct overview of the problem, factors that relate to the problem, data from literature, your analysis and recommendations. The final project will reflect your ability to identify a DEI problem, analyze data, and make recommendations for solving the problem. The project will demonstrate your critical thinking skills and should serve as a solid addition to your ePortfolio.
