MTH154 — Quantitative Reasoning
3 credit(s) Information Technology students may choose MTH 161 or MTH 167 or MTH 263 as an alternative. Students should confirm math requirement at 4-year institution. Excel spreadsheets used extensively. Strongly recommend Students have completed or co-enroll in ITE 152 to acquire the computer application skills necessary for the course. Presents topics in proportional reasoning, modeling, financial literacy and validity studies (logic and set theory). Focuses on the process of taking a real-world situation, identifying the mathematical foundation needed to address the problem, solving the problem and applying what is learned to the original situation. This is a Passport Transfer course. Lecture 3 hours. Total 3 hours per week.
