HIS 226 — The Civil War

Prerequisites: ENG 025 Corequisites: None This course examines the social, political, economic, and ideological forces that led to the Civil War and Reconstruction. Topics include regional conflicts and sec- tionalism, dissolution of the Union, military campaigns, and the War’s socioeco - nomic impact, aftermath, and consequences. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze significant political, socioeconomic, and cultural develop - ments in the United States during the era of the Civil War. This course has been approved for transfer under the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA) and ICAA as a premajor and/or elective course requirement.
