MUSI 180 — MUSI-180 1 Unit Mariachi Ensemble
This course is for the study, rehearsal, and public performance of repertoire appropriate for a mariachi ensemble. The Napa Valley College Mariachi Ensemble performs mariachi repertoire with an emphasis on the development of skills needed to perform within a mariachi ensemble. Different repertoire will be studied each semester in a variety of musical styles from various regions of Mexico, including son jalisciense, son huasteco, bolero, ranchera, and huapango. Choice of ensemble is based on each student's identified major instrument. The course is repeatable for credit.
