Radiation Therapy
Radiation therapists treat cancer and other diseases by administering radiation treatments, working in hospitals, physician offices, and outpatient centers. Muskegon Community College offers courses that transfer to a radiation therapy program at another institution. Most radiation therapists complete an associate's or bachelor's degree and must be licensed or certified in most states, often requiring a national certification exam. Employment is projected to grow 13 percent from 2016 to 2026, driven by an aging population and advances in radiation therapies. The median annual wage was $80,570 in May 2017.
