TECS2915 — Professional Skills
In the Professional Skills course, students gain advanced skills and knowledge to prepare for a successful career in the Cosmetology, Hair Design, and Barbering industry. It emphasizes professionalism, career readiness, and technical skill enhancement. Students explore career opportunities in the industry, develop life skills, and understand the importance of maintaining a professional image. Emphasis is placed on communication, client relations, business, portfolio and teamwork in a salon environment. The course covers Utah laws, rules, and licensing requirements. Students demonstrate competency through assignments, tests, and practical skill assessments. Students receive advanced training in braiding, hair extensions, wigs, haircutting, hairstyling, and related techniques. This course builds upon previous foundational learning.
