NRSG1300 — Mental Health

Students are introduced to the role of a licensed practical nurse in providing basic, safe and quality care for the adult and older adult with predictable outcomes. The nursing process is used to collect and organize data to assist in identifying health problems. With a strong focus on safety and infection control, basic nursing skills are practiced in the laboratory and performed in the clinical setting. This course also includes concepts regarding patient-centered care, legal and ethical concerns, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, informatics, and collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.
