COMM-220 — Intercultural Communication
0, or successful completion of ACRD-080; Placement into ENGL-101 on the MCC placement test, completion of ELAP-120 with a 2.5 or higher, or successful completion of the paired ENGL-099/ENGL-101 ALP classes. This course examines intercultural communication by focusing on theories and methods that relate to the various dimensions of culture and how they impact effective verbal and nonverbal communication. Using an international framework, this course investigates the role of context, cultural competence, conflict, ethics, perception, and privilege in a variety of personal, professional, and mediated settings.
