Description: An introduction to the principles of counseling families of special needs youth. Identify counseling approaches as well as challenges, cultural considerations, and resources for parents and the diverse family unit. Develop an understanding of life adjustment changes to the family dynamic. Emphasis is on integrity in practice and the development of knowledge, skills and values of the professional. Explores the college and career pathway to working with clients with disabilities and their families. 54.00 hours lecture. (Letter grade or Pass/No Pass option)
