Description: Designed to meet the state and national accreditation requirements for an approved Dental Assistant Program. Includes the production, characteristics, and biological effects of radiation, the function, components and operation of the x-ray unit; radiation protection and monitoring; chemistry and techniques associated with x-ray film development. Introduction to anatomical landmarks, intraoral long-cone radiographic techniques for exposing bitewing, periapical, and occlusal films. 27.00 hours lecture and 54.00 hours laboratory.
