Emphasizes student interaction using authentic language in a cultural context. Explores cultural heritage and civilization of Italy through analysis and appreciation of level-appropriate Italian literary works. Integrates cross-cultural comparison through the integration of Italian traditions, customs, and contemporary societal aspects. Reinforces language skills via the use of technology including video, audio recordings, and internet sources. Equivalent to three years of high school Italian.
