PAR 106 - Criminal Law and Procedure PAR 106 - Criminal Law and Procedure Criminal Law and Procedure explores the substance of criminal law (i.e., the What: the elements of crimes and their defenses) and the procedure (i.e., the How: from the police investigation, through the trial and sentencing, all the way to the appeal). We learn the substance primarily from the jury instructions, and we learn the procedure from case law and rules of procedure.
