PAR 101 - Legal Research and Writing I PAR 101 - Legal Research and Writing I Covers introductory principles and procedures for conducting legal research and techniques for basic legal writing. Includes developing an understanding of the sources of U.S. law; distinguishing between primary and secondary sources of law; researching case law, constitutions, statutes, and administrative law; properly citing various sources of law; preparing a basic case brief; and finding and using secondary authority. Students will be introduced to various types of legal writing, such as the preparation of research reports, basic letter writing, and legal memorandums. Search Course Schedule for availability
