MFG 111 - Mechanical System Basics MFG 111 - Mechanical System Basics The course, Mechanical System Basics, introduces the core principles and components of mechanical systems used in manufacturing and industrial environments. Students will explore mechanical power transmission, including gears, belts, shaft couplings, chains, bearings, and drive systems. Emphasis is placed on understanding system function and safe operation. Hands-on activities provide practical experience to support future coursework in automation, system integration, and equipment repair. Prerequisite: Completion of MFG 100 and/or permission of faculty or Associate Dean Search Course Schedule for availability
