EDU 485 - Elementary Math Methods EDU 485 - Elementary Math Methods The course supports elementary math educators in understanding how children conceptualize mathematics in grades K-8. A variety of instructional strategies will review best practices for teaching math concepts through problem solving, reasoning, application, and other currently accepted effective trends in instruction. The course will empathize the importance of formative and summative assessment in lesson design. Supervised Field Experience Practicum Hours Required Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in MAT 160 and MAT 161 , AND acceptance into Teacher Preparation Program or admission to Post-Baccalaureate EDU program Corequisite: This course is to be taken concurrently with EDU 306 Search Course Schedule for availability
