ECE 117 - Observation, Behavior, and Guidance ECE 117 - Observation, Behavior, and Guidance An introductory course that explores the research and techniques for guiding children in early childhood education with a focus on individual child and adult needs for a disciplined environment. Areas of focus include the following: objective observation, record keeping techniques, guidance, behavior modification techniques, listening skills, and classroom management. An emphasis is placed on two-way communication, providing an environment where children can learn and practice appropriate behaviors individually and in a group. Prerequisite: Multiple measures discussion OR special permission from Academic Dean of education Search Course Schedule for availability
