Medical Ethics introduces students to the principles of ethics and how these apply to health care practice. Students will examine two main ethical theories, utilitarian and deontological, as they apply to questions of health care practice. Students will study the ethical principles of autonomy, nonmaleficence, and beneficence. The focus will be on the application of these theories and principles to specific contemporary issues.
