Introduction to Group Work for Addictions allows students to gain knowledge and practical skills of completing a biopsychosocial evaluation, include making a diagnosis using the DSM, and writing an evaluation summary. Topics covered include, but not limited to, interviewing skills and helping techniques, treatment planning, referrals, communication, listing and feedback skills, how groups work, the impact of culture on treatment, how to assess spiritual issues and mandated reporting.
