MATH 212 — : Mathematical Concepts and Structures for Teachers II: Algebra, Geometry, Measurement, and Reasoning
This continuation of MATH 210 covers the mathematical concepts needed for teaching elementary school mathematics. Core topics include solving equations with algebra and graphs of linear functions, geometry and geometric proofs, Pythagorean theorem, measurement in both the English and metric systems, transformations, and symmetry. Students must demonstrate their understanding of the algebraic and geometric concepts and structures using critical thinking. It is required for students working toward a multiple-subject credential in elementary education. (Formerly MATH 106). UC CREDIT LIMITATION: Credit for MATH 105, MATH 106, MATH 210 , or MATH 212 .
