DRAM 222 — : Introduction to Black Theater

This course explores Black theatre from the pre-Civil War era to the present. It is designed to give students of all backgrounds an introductory understanding of this genre. Topics covered include elements of style, design, and criticism. The course also examines issues of politics, race, and gender in historic and contemporary American theatre.
