WQAL 2267 — Watershed Management

| Lecture/Lab The student will apply team building and personal communication skills to the development of basin - wide watershed management planning; study fundamental water resources management concepts as applied to the water/wastewat er industry and the natural environment; use techniques and knowledge that have been developed in prior courses within the water resources curriculum to manage water resources from a watershed perspective. Public relations and leadership skills will be em phasized in relation to achieving stakeholder consensus for basin- wide watershed management plans/projects. This course includes a focus on Comprehensive Local Water Management Plans based on local priorities which link many land- use decisions with local goals for surface and groundwater protection and management. (Cross- listed course; students can enroll only in WQAL 2267 or WSHD 2267.) Prerequisities: NRT 2315, WQAL 1656, WSHD 1656
