POE 2534 — Drug and Gang Investigation
| Lecture/Lab Drug and Gang Investigation follows a lecture and discussion format. Both licit and illicit substances and implications for their use and abuse are presented. Drug abuse prevention, enforcement, and drug identification are explored. The social and health consequences of these drugs are discussed followed by an in- depth review of the drugs most commonly abused in our schools and neighborhoods. An overview of the international and domestic drug trafficking problem is offered providing an understanding of the origins of illicit drugs. Finally, drug-related crime is discussed in the context of predatory, political, and criminal beha vior related to the drug trade. Prerequisities: LAW 1520, POE 1520
