NRT 1221 — Fire Training and Mechanical Skills 1

| Lab Fire Training and Mechanical Skills 1 is the Wildland Firefighting component in a series o f skills courses. Students will be introduced to wildland fire statistics, terminology and practices within the United States, and will receive 32 hours of classroom/lab training as required by the National Interagency Fire Qualification System. This includes S -130 Basic Firefighter Training, S- 190 Introduction to Fire Behavior, and L -180 Human Factors on the Fireline. The National Incident Management System (NIMS) training, IS- 100 Incident Command, will be required as an online assignment outside of cla ssroom time. Many units are designed to be taught in either the classroom or the field, depending upon weather conditions. Prerequisities: NRT 1211
