ENGL 2231 — Survey of British Literature

| Lecture This course traces the literature from the Middle Ages through the Romantic, Victorian, and Modern eras with an emphasis on both historical context and the universal themes that span the eras. Through reading, writing, and class discussion, students will be introduced to literary interpretation and develop an understanding of the evolution of English language and literature, emphasizing the cultural and historical relevance modern readers can find in great works.
