ECED 1206 — Diverse Children and Family Relations

| Lecture This course covers the relationship between the caregiver, families and co -workers and explores the use of strategies to establish and maintain these relationships. Attention will be given to understanding bias, building a class community, applying differentiated learning approaches for all children, addressing barriers and the benefi ts of family involvement. Developing effective techniques that can be used when working with diverse children and families will also be addressed. Students will make connections between content knowledge and practice through a 16-hour field experience.
